TBVI Advocacy & Fundraising

The TuBerculosis Vaccine Initiative (TBVI) Advocacy and Fundraising project aims to advocate and raise funds for a tuberculosis vaccine research & development (R&D) portfolio supported by TBVI.

The 3 year project is made possible by a $3 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. This allows TBVI to build and sustain an advocacy and communications infrastructure, with the following objectives:

  1. Mobilize financial resources from governments, foundations and private industry to support the mission of TBVI;

  2. Increase awareness and support among policy makers and other opinion leaders for TB vaccine research and development;

  3. Increase the scientific community’s engagement, including non-European researchers, in the development of new tuberculosis vaccines.
