42nd World Union Conference on Lung Health, Lille, France

The 42nd Union World Conference on Lung Health will be held at the Lille Grand Palais, in Lille, France, on 26–30 October, 2011.

The conference theme this year is "Partnerships for Scaling-up and Care," which will highlight the vital importance of collaboration in common efforts to address the conditions affecting lung health.

TBVI, together with Institut Pasteur Lille and Aeras will organize a symposium 'Partnerships to Accelerate TB Vaccine Development' on Friday 28 October, 14.30-16.30 in Room Rotterdam. The complete programme can be found here.

Furthermore there will be an interesting symposium on biomarkers were our partner Stefan Kaufmann from the Max-Planck-Institute or Infection Biology will give a presentation about biomarkers in TB. See program.

We also invite you to visit the Aeras and TBVI booth in the Exhibit Hall (#35) to learn more about progress in tuberculosis vaccine research and development.

On Saturday 29 October at 10.30, TBVI’s Joris Vandeputte speaks in the Advocacy Corner in the Exhibition Hall about ‘New times, new tactics: broadening the argument for TB vaccine R&D’ 

Aeras, the TuBerculosis Vaccine Initiative (TBVI), The Institut Pasteur de Lille and the Stop TB Partnership Working Group on New TB Vaccines invite you to join us for a reception celebrating global progress in the development of new tuberculosis vaccines.
The reception will take place on Saturday, 29 October 2011 from 18:00 - 19:30 at Institut Pasteur De Lille, 1 Rue de Professeur Calmette. Institut Pasteur de Lille is the historic site where Professeurs Albert Calmette and Camille Guérin developed the current TB vaccine, BCG, 90 years ago, and TB vaccine research continues there today.
