Symposium: Action on the social determinants of tuberculosis

15-02-12

Time: 9.00 am - 5:30 pm
Venue: John Snow, LSHTM, Keppel Street, London, WC1E 7HT, UK

In 2009 Mario Raviglione, Director of the Stop TB Department, suggested that better tuberculosis control required investment not only in diagnostics, treatment, and health systems but also in development initiatives addressing the social determinants of tuberculosis, including social protection interventions (such as cash transfer programmes). However, practical ideas for action are still scarcer than is notional support for this approach. This symposium will explore how this agenda should be taken forward.

Admission: Free and open to all with no ticket required. Entry is on a first come,
first served basis.
