Dr. Micha Roumiantzeff

Dr. Micha Roumiantzeff joined the European Cluster TBVAC Project in 1999, as Advisor of the Board. Since 2004 he is a permanent member of the Product Development Team of TBVAC and TBVI, focusing specially on the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) production of new TB vaccines .
Since 1995 dr. Roumiantzeff is member of TB groups of the World Health Organization (WHO): IMMYC (Immunology of Mycobacteria), followed by the BCG Vaccines Working Group.
Micha Roumiantzeff served for 32 years (1963-1995) the Institut Mérieux Pasteur group where he occupied different positions in production, development and research. His responsibilities, for different bacterial and viral vaccines, were mainly in general vaccinology, specialized in immunology. He terminated his professional career in Brussels in charge of the European Affairs for Pasteur Mérieux. He specially served as Vice President of the European Vaccine Manufacturers (EVM).
Before working in this biological industry, dr. Roumiantzeff graduated from the Lyon Veterinary School (1959), specialized in Bacteriology/ Virology at the Lyon Faculty of Medicine (1961) and served 2 years in the army.
He was visiting scientist at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York (1969-1970). He obtained a thesis of Doctor des Sciences in biochemistry at the Lyon University of Sciences in 1974.
