5. Dr. Joris Vandeputte

Dr. Joris Vandeputte is Senior Vice President Advocacy and Resource Mobilization of TBVI. He started his career as a scientist, but later on his activities turned into business development, international and governmental affairs and advocacy.

He worked among others for the pharmaceutical company Merial and the vaccine fund Gavi-Alliance. Within TBVI Joris is responsible for the mobilization of new financial resources among EU, governments, pharmaceutical and other companies. Furthermore he is responsible for creating more awareness about the huge social and economic problem of TB, because that is greatly underestimated by most people.

Joris: “I’m passionated about the European collaboration among both politicians and research partners. In TB vaccine development, Europe can really make a difference and do good for and with the world because of the excellent quality of Europe's TB R&D.”
