Michèle Boccoz is the French ambassador to Belgium. Previously, she served as international communication director for Veolia Environment and as a director of the International Finance Facility for Immunization, IFFIm. She was also director of international affairs at the Institut Pasteur where she implemented a new regional strategy involving over 8,800 persons, and set up networks of partners throughout Latin America and Asia.
Ambassador Boccoz’s history of service to the government of France dates back to the early 1990s. She began her career at the Ministry’s Finance & Economy section, where she was responsible for the European Union’s external relations with Central, Northern and Mediterranean European countries. Thereafter, she represented France in the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). In 1997, the Ambassador Boccoz served as France’s representative to the United Nations in Geneva, where she was instrumental in the cooperation between France and World Health Organization (WHO).
Ambassador Boccoz has received her degrees from the French Ecole Normale Supérieure de Fontenay and the Ecole Nationale d’Administration.
