Dick Pouwels is Chairman of the Board of the University of Applied Sciences HAS Den Bosch. He studied business economics, financial specialization at the University of Groningen followed by the postgraduate education for controller at the Free University of Amsterdam. He started his career as controller at the National Institute for Health en Environment (RIVM). In 2000 he moved to the Animal Sciences Group of Wageningen UR as controller and manager of the support staff. In 2004 he became Director Operations of the Animal Sciences Group and in 2008 he also became Director Operations of IMARES, the marine research institute of Wageningen UR. In 2011 he became Chairman of the University of Applied Sciences HAS Den Bosch.
